The Corporate Recruiting System
You don't need to be a recruitment expert to follow the system; just smart enough to use it!
Regardless of where the economy may be, the need to become more efficient and introduce lean, cost saving systems into business never goes away. Yet recruitment seems to be one of those areas that is slow to change. Even in the 2009 economy the use of recruitment agencies was still too high resulting in a cost base that never appeared to go down. 2010 will no doubt need to see a lot less reliance on recruitment agencies.
Sometimes it is down to Line Managers continuing to call their "favourite agency", sometimes it is due to lack of time or lack of direct candidates. Often HR do not know where to get the right people from or, their attraction strategy is just not working. The bottom line; the business needs the people and if the agency is the only option that works then so be it. But that would be like marketing saying "TV is the only channel" which is why we cannot afford to do any more marketing.
Of course recruitment has changed in many ways and more recently with the use of social networks for recruiting. Big employers cannot always leverage these channels for many reasons but to be honest, all recruiting is now social so social media cannot be ignored. It's not of course just about social thought as shown in the diagram below that includes the critical elements of a corporate recruiting system.

Wee know from the discussions we have with employers is that the immediate response will be "We do most of that" but in reality doing it is all well and good but doing it well and successfully is very different. To help employers implement The System we follow we follow our own system which starts with The Discovery System. This is designed to find out:
- What you need to achieve from your target market.
- What you do right now.
- What needs to be done to achieve your goals.
- Ongoing products, support and coaching needs.
Not exactly rocket science we know but how much are you doing right now and how successful are you being? Sign-up ON THE RIGHT for our next Discovery System Breakfast Seminar and find out the what, how and why of Corporate Recruiting.
