The Body Shop scoops 1st place

Hire Strategies Limited (HSL) is proud to launch the first industry award for excellence in retail career sites.

Over the next few weeks Hire Strategies Managing Director Peter Gold will release full details of his recent research into retail e-recruitment and name and shame the best and worst websites for capturing top retail talent.

Hire Strategies researched a "top 100" of major retailers from the food and grocery, high street, out of town and retail banking markets, and found some startling results.

THE BODY SHOP® SCOOPS 1ST PLACE IN BRAND NEW INDUSTRY AWARD FOR THE BEST IN RETAIL E-RECRUITMENT

The Hire Strategies researchers looked at all aspects of retailers online recruitment capability such as "search engine optimisation", "first impressions", "the application process" and accessibility/diversity promotion.

The overall top 3 best rated websites were The Body Shop®, Mothercare and Virgin Mobile.

The Body Shop® website scored consistently across all sections of the research, but their applicant job search and apply process came in for particular praise which was underpinned by their Applicant Tracking System (ATS) from Peopleclick. As would be expected from The Body Shop®, company ethics and values were well communicated.

The Hire Strategies Top 100 Retail Career Sites awards will become an annual event, and it is aimed to become the "Gold Standard" for career site creators to aspire to.

The Body Shop® U.K. and Ireland H.R. Director Jeff Howard commented;

"We are delighted to hear that The Body Shop® are the first ever winners of Hire Strategies' Best Recruitment Website. This award is great news for us as we strive to become the small retailer of choice and an employer where quality people actively seek to join us based on our strong reputation.

Attracting the best people to our business means that we need to use all available resources to communicate The Body Shop® message. In terms of our website, in addition to making it simple for people to apply to us and for us to track these applications, we look to communicate our Values, heritage and company stories".

Hire Strategies Managing Director Peter Gold said;

"The Body Shop® website currently sets the standard for other career sites without being over engineered or relying on fancy designs to ‘wow' applicants. It ticks all the boxes being easy to use, promotes The Body Shop® well, incorporates all potential users and it's layout/process is not confusing to the user".
